Yesterday (July 2 Japan Time) the Futaba cam view showed pink above the plant in the morning before it was socked in again by heavy fog:
Radiation levels are up slightly on Netc today
More interesting, US levels are up in concert with the jet stream.
These are gross indicators and prove nothing, but they are suggestive.
On June 30, 2016 the outgoing Fukushima plant chief stated the plant had faced an electrical outage that impacted the underground ice walls. It is possible the fog derives from problems with the ice wall:

..,The Fukushima No. 1 plant faced an electric outage this week, which shut down some of the cooling facilities for its underground ice walls.
...Ono said that the decommissioning work will also face other challenges, including identifying the exact location of melted fuel rods.
Among the most troubling aspects of the Fukushima disaster is the lack of transparency concerning actual plant conditions, especially water contamination and ongoing atmospheric emissions.

DeleteNETC Dosimeters carried by two of my volunteers flying to USA from Australia have shown low cpm over S. Pacific, but huge alert levels when flying to USA--thru the jet stream. I dont have anything recent, but it was over 900 cpm for the jet stream THEN, a few months ago. Wish someone could test now. jec
ReplyDeleteThanks. I still get high readings when flying across the USA. In the 400 CPM range with a medtronics.
